About Us
The University of Winnipeg Golden Key Chapter has just begun its eighth year of operation on the UW campus. As a Chapter of The Golden Key International Honour Society, the largest collegiate honour society in the world with over 400 chapters, we offer valuable services to the UW student body and the local community. The UW-GK Chapter currently has over 1,200 student members and thirteen honorary members, among them representatives from The University of Winnipeg administration at various levels and faculty, as well as outstanding community members, all whom have been committed to the advancement and support of students.

Over the years, we have volunteered for dozens of organizations, such as Siloam Mission, Canadian Blood Services, The Children's Hospital (HSC), Boys and Girls Club of Winnipeg, Newcomers Employment and Education Development Services (N.E.E.D.S.), Winnipeg Harvest, Jack. org, The Red Cross, The Princeton Review and others.

Supporting our local members and student body academically at The University of Winnipeg is another one of our goals. Beyond the scholarships that Golden Key International offers, our local UW-GK Chapter offers three of its own scholarships, two to support our local Chapter members and one in-course scholarship open to all students on campus. We also support students with our UW-GK Tutoring Service, currently offered to the Faculty of Business and Economics. We facilitate the service by aiding in the tutor-recruitment process, organizing and advertising the service to students, managing student requests, as well as coordinating tutoring sessions.

The UW-GK offers many leadership opportunities that, first and foremost, involve holding a position on our Executive Committee. These one-year terms offer development opportunities in leadership, organizational and personal skills, and professionalism. Additionally, throughout the year, we hold workshops for our membership and the University student body on topics such as resume and essay writing, professional development, etiquette, and Robert’s Rule of Order.

To assist high-achieving students in unlocking their potential by providing and promoting opportunities for them to thrive in the domains of the three universal Golden Key pillars, namely, of academics, leadership, and service.
